why buy something when you can make it
ok as some of you know last month i went to vancouver and i saw phantom of the opera live. (incase you do not know i am obsessed with that story). any way i was really hoping to be able to buy a phantom t-shirt that i could wear with pride and show off my obsession. but wouldent you know it the queen elizibeth theater was not selling any merchindise. i was dissapointed but then i found out that you could order a t-shirt over the internet. as soon as i got home i ran up to the computer and looked up the website hoping to be able to buy the t-shirt. but they were expensive..and i do not have that much skill when it comes to ordering things off of the internet. so a couple weeks passed and i was dissapointed because i did not have a phantom shirt.
But then i thought i could just make one... and i did. yesterday i made my very own phantom t-shirt. that i can wear with pride. i went to marks work wear house in sidney and bought a plain white long sleve t-shirt. for about 22 dollers. and my loving mom bought some transfer paper. well i spent yesterday affter school trying to think of something to put on this shirt to make it phantomish but not so i was copyrightin the shirts that normaly get sold at the performaces or over the internet. on the front of my shirt it says "the opera ghost really exsited"-gaston leroux (gaston leroux was the guy who wrote the original book). and on the back it says phantom fan. right now i am trying to figure out how to put a rose on it. which should be easy enough. considering i already have the rose pic that i want on.
i am actually kind of glad that they were not selling the "authantic" t-shirts at the show . because making this shirt was fun . also my mom and my dad helped me make it, and then my brother desided that since there was like 3 pages of transfer paper left he would make a t-shirt that said something to. so this was more like a family bonding activity. we all sort of got involved. just because silly me wanted a shirt. i liked it. if i just bought the shirt there never would have been this "family time" that happend well making the shirt . and the shirt would not be uniqe it would just be like every one elses who might have bought a phantom shirt.

adventures on sidney spit
well summer is comming to an end and things are starting to slow down. which is sad for me because it means going back to school and in some ways having to grow up and act mature. but before all that happens me and my two friends decided to go have a fun time on sidney spit. just the 3 of us teenage girls. without any parent supervision. OH THE CAOS. ha ha just joking. it was a fun time. we did all the usual stuff at sidney spit (if you have been there) go swimming , hang out on the beach, tanning if your into that. but we also whent and checked out the bomb shelter on sidney spit. ok some times i am sooooo deprived i did not even know that sidney spit had a bomb shelter till this summer and i have been living in sidney for like my whole life. and been to sidney spit alot so that is just kind of sad.
natasha, fiona and I also decised to go and explore. we sort of when off of the main path and climed down the side of a clif to the beach. which was fun untill we could not get back up. somthing about me and climbing along clifs.we just do not go together. so we walked along the beach untill i saw this other sort of sandy clif that i thought i would try and climb up to see if it would be easier then the one that we came down. (keep in mind that if we just continued to walk around then i am sure that there would have been no need to climb up any clifs). natasha and fiona decided to send me as the scout. so i climbed up the hill along the way stiking my hand in prickel bushed and getting a pound full of sand in both my shoes. finaly all three of us got up. but we realized that the main path was no wear to be seen. so affter wondering around for about an hour we found it and started to walk back to our camp.
i think that one of the best things about going camping sometimes is not the swimming or the adventures i think sometimes the best part is the talks that you end up having. fiona, natasha and i talked alot. we ended up finding outselfs talking about life, our family. and some of the most random silly things that you can think off. there is this random dock on sidney spit that we went on and we just layed there looked up at the starts and talked non stop. it was great.
lots of other wacky stuff ended up happening on that island. i have some battle wounds from swimming into rocks. which is not a very smart thing to do i might add. swimming into rocks is painful. i am going to have to upload some pictures to put on once fiona gets them developed. because there are something that happen when you are camping that you cannot talk about you can only show...
it was fun.
