why buy something when you can make it

ok as some of you know last month i went to vancouver and i saw phantom of the opera live. (incase you do not know i am obsessed with that story). any way i was really hoping to be able to buy a phantom t-shirt that i could wear with pride and show off my obsession. but wouldent you know it the queen elizibeth theater was not selling any merchindise. i was dissapointed but then i found out that you could order a t-shirt over the internet. as soon as i got home i ran up to the computer and looked up the website hoping to be able to buy the t-shirt. but they were expensive..and i do not have that much skill when it comes to ordering things off of the internet. so a couple weeks passed and i was dissapointed because i did not have a phantom shirt.

But then i thought i could just make one... and i did. yesterday i made my very own phantom t-shirt. that i can wear with pride. i went to marks work wear house in sidney and bought a plain white long sleve t-shirt. for about 22 dollers. and my loving mom bought some transfer paper. well i spent yesterday affter school trying to think of something to put on this shirt to make it phantomish but not so i was copyrightin the shirts that normaly get sold at the performaces or over the internet. on the front of my shirt it says "the opera ghost really exsited"-gaston leroux (gaston leroux was the guy who wrote the original book). and on the back it says phantom fan. right now i am trying to figure out how to put a rose on it. which should be easy enough. considering i already have the rose pic that i want on.

i am actually kind of glad that they were not selling the "authantic" t-shirts at the show . because making this shirt was fun . also my mom and my dad helped me make it, and then my brother desided that since there was like 3 pages of transfer paper left he would make a t-shirt that said something to. so this was more like a family bonding activity. we all sort of got involved. just because silly me wanted a shirt. i liked it. if i just bought the shirt there never would have been this "family time" that happend well making the shirt . and the shirt would not be uniqe it would just be like every one elses who might have bought a phantom shirt.

and everything i wrote deleted itself. Sweet. I'll start again...

I made a t shirt once...a long long time ago. there wasn't lots of family bonding. Clothes are expensive eh? Maybe I should just learn how to sew my own. Or keep aquiring other peoples...whichever.

Very cool for making your own shirt. Plus it's an original, not just another of the same Phantom shirts out there! Way to go getting creative!
